R3 boss has recently opened a new Japanese-style hot spring sauna near Saphan Khwai station. This is the fifth sauna under R3 boss’s management, with previous openings in Bang Kapi (BKP) and near On Nut station called Jaan. The response has been mediocre, especially for Jaan, which had very few visitors. It remains to be seen whether this new establishment in “300 Baht Happy Circle” can attract more customers.
Kaikan Onsen is located just behind 39 Sauna, on the right side after coming out of Big C. One Spa and the “300 Baht Happy Circle” area are nearby as well. The location is excellent as there are many spa shops around.
From the published pictures, Kaikan seems to have a better environment focused on hot springs without cruising areas or mazes; it only has upscale-looking rest areas. It’s uncertain if this type of establishment can win over a large number of fans among enthusiasts.
However, personally speaking, I’m not too fond of this type of sauna – it’s rather dull and lacks novelty and treasure hunting fun. Perhaps high-end beauty lovers will appreciate it? But low-end wandering gay men like me me don’t want to waste time fiddling around; we prefer directness, exploration, wildness, and spiciness…
Address: 44/6 Soi Inthamara 1, Samsen Nai,
Phaya Thai,Bangkok 10400
Business hours: 15:00 – 8:00
Price: 450 Thai Baht
Transportation Guide: Search for Kaikan Onsen on the map; take BTS to Saphan Khwai Station Exit 2 and walk about 600 meters – it’s just behind Big C.
Review: Excellent environment centered around hot springs but feedback from beauty enthusiasts who have visited indicates average popularity with no cruising areas or mazes.
